GREENSBURG – Catholic Schools Week begins in the Diocese of Greensburg on Jan. 29 and continues through Feb 4. Below are some of the activities Catholic Schools in Fayette County will have during Catholic Schools Week.

 

Catholic Schools Week Events at St. John the Evangelist Regional Catholic School

Uniontown

Sunday, January 29 – Catholic Schools Week will officially open with the 10:30 Mass followed by our Open House from 12-2.

 

Monday, January 30 – 9:00-10:00 – Care and Share Day – the older children share with the younger children.

 

Wednesday, February 1 – School Carnival which is sponsored by Grades 7 & 8.

 

Thursday, February 2  – 9:00 a.m. School Mass and then Arts & Crafts will be held.

 

Friday, February 3 – 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Family Bingo – an evening of fun with our school families.

 

Catholic Schools Week Events at Conn-Area Catholic School in Connellsville

 

Saturday, January 28 and Sunday, January 29 – Speakers at Masses

Monday, January 30 – Appreciation of Faculty, Staff, and Parents, Hoodie Dress Down Faculty and Staff luncheon Special gift for parents. Students are to bring in their stuffed pet.

 

Tuesday, January 31 – Appreciation of Our Gifts, Talents, and Knowledge

Science Fair Exhibits (gymnasium) – 9:00 to 11:30.

Wednesday, February 1 – Appreciation of Our Students and Our Van Drivers

Pajama Day Cookies and Orange Juice for our van drivers.

11:15 – Performing Arts Preview (gymnasium)

Stuffed Pet Show Assembly (gymnasium) – 1:00 p.m.

 

Thursday, February 2 – Appreciation of Our Country and Our Community

Red, White, Blue Spirit Wear

Ice Cream Treat for Students

Fun Facts about the Country

Gifts presented to Nursing Homes

Board Game Activity in classrooms

 

Friday, February 3 – Appreciation of Our Lord, Our Vocations, and Our Faith

10:00 a.m. – Immaculate Conception Parish – Connellsville

St. Blaise Day – blessing of throats.

Giebel Junior Senor Catholic High School – Connellsville

Thursday, February 3

1 p.m. – Bishop Larry J. Kulick will celebrate Catholic Schools Week Mass.
