Chartiers Cross Road Church, 502 Old Hickory Ridge Rd., Washington, will host a craft and vendor show with a homemade soup sale on Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be Chinese auction baskets and quarts of soup to go for $8.
The First United Methodist Church of Canonsburg, at 161 West Pike St., Canonsburg, will host the 20th annual Tribute to Veterans and First Responders Nov. 11 at 7 p.m., with a cookie reception and information table at 6 p.m. This year’s keynote speaker is Bobbi Cumpston, director of Veterans Affairs for Washington County. The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will host a star party at Mingo Creek Park Observatory, located in Mingo Creek Park, Mansion Hill Extension, past shelter 10, Nov. 11. There is no safe solar observation on this date. The star party starts at 6:15 p.m. Planetarium presentations occur rain or shine.
The monthly South Hills Coin Club meeting will be held on Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bethel Park Municipal building at 5100 West Library Ave. in Bethel Park. All members and the general public are invited. This month’s program will be on Boy Scout medals and WWI and WWII bonds. A 50/50 will be offered, and children’s prizes will be awarded.
