• Dylan Stewart’s hat-trick and a strong defensive effort keyed McGuffey’s 6-0 Class 2A Section 3 victory over Washington on Tuesday at McGuffey.

Stewart scored the second, fourth and fifth goals. Larry Goodman opened the scoring in the first half. Mason Piatt added the third tally, and the Highlanders (3-0, 5-0) had a 3-0 halftime lead. 

Eddie Goodman closed the scoring. Nate Kler had four assists. 

Sam Stout wasn’t challenged as the McGuffey defense shut down the Prexies’ offense. Washington falls to 1-2 in section play and 1-5 overall.
