Scheidt – Stein wedding
A trivia night at Mario’s South Side Saloon turned into more than just Q&A for Ellen Scheidt, 26, and Sam Stein, 31. The two were on opposing teams, and, according to Ellen, “Things got a little hostile on Twitter, so I apologized on my friend’s behalf.”
Turns out, that was the right answer. Fast forward to Sam proposing in front of Ellen’s entire family during a cruise on the Gateway Clipper Fleet and wedding planning commenced.
Ellen wanted a fall wedding, but “not a fall Pinterest wedding.” The details came together elegantly for the ceremony and reception, which were both held at The Pittsburgh Golf Club in Squirrel Hill. Guests dined on crab cakes and filet and the traditional Pittsburgh cookie table served as the favors.
The day was not without a few hiccups – but those turned out to be the most memorable photo opps.
”I fell during the father/daughter dance with my brother. I also realized after the reception that I forgot to throw my bouquet, so I threw it at the hotel bar where we were staying and the bartender caught it,” Ellen says. “Free champagne for everyone!”
Following a honeymoon in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple lives on the South Side – where it all began.
