State police respond to 6 fatal crashes over holiday weekend

State police responded to six fatal crashes across Pennsylvania during the Easter weekend. From April 3 to 5, troopers were called to 532 total crashes. Six people were killed in those accidents, and 42 of the crashes were related to motorists driving under the influence. Those numbers are similar to last year, when during the same three-day period state police responded to 527 crashes. Four of those crashes were fatal, killing six people in total. Highmark Wholecare’s Farm-to-Family program to host first free farmers market of 2026

Highmark Wholecare will kick off its 2026 Farm-to-Family season in Monessen on Monday with a free, fresh produce drive-thru giveaway for up to 250 families dealing with food insecurity. The food will be provided by Westmoreland Food Bank at 1 Wendell-Ramey Lane in the city starting at 1:30 p.m. Through its food insecurity program, Highmark Wholecare will host 37 events this year with a goal of distributing 225,000 pounds of free, fresh produce to 10,000 families. Companies take guilty plea over illegal video gaming devices

Operators of two amusement companies have pleaded guilty to distributing illegal video gaming devices in Washington County and other communities in the Pittsburgh region. According to a news release from the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office, the proprietors of Buffalo Skills Games Inc. and J.J. Amusement Inc. agreed to dissolve the companies and forfeit $5 million in assets as part of the plea deal.
