Rally on Main canceled after gunfire incident

Rally on Main, a gathering of motorcycles scheduled for Saturday in downtown Washington, has been canceled following an incident involving gunfire that occurred in Washington over the weekend. Police Chief Steve Devenney consulted with outside police agencies and the city solicitor and determined that it was in the best interest and safety of the community to cancel the event. Mayor JoJo Burgess said shots were fired Saturday at Forty Bar and Grille, and the incident involved two biker groups. City police joined state police in responding to the incident.
