Canton man accused in nursing home thefts

A Canton Township man faces criminal charges after he was accused of stealing more than $14,000 from residents at an assisted care facility. Greene Washington Regional Police Department on Wednesday charged Quinn Christopher Wells with felonies of theft by deception and receiving stolen property. Wells, 40, was the house coordinator for Pathways Residential Homes at 690 Hewitt Ave. According to the criminal complaint, between April 2024 and December 2025 he took support funds from two care-dependent residents. McDonald woman accused of scamming mother

State police accused a woman this week of defrauding her mother out of $1,400. Erica Bardell, 42, of McDonald, allegedly convinced her mother that she was being held against her will and needed the money to be released, state police said. Bardell's mother, a 70-year-old resident of Summerhill Township, Cambria County, sent Bardell the money in increments between Feb. 13 and 15. According to state police, Bardell admitted she was not in danger and was "just trying to get money." State police charged her with theft by deception and financial exploitation in Cambria County.
