Pedestrian killed while crossing Cecil Township road

An 86-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning in Cecil Township while crossing the street to collect his mail. Robert Cohen was walking across Cecil Henderson Road near Progress Lane when he was struck by the vehicle traveling southeast shortly after 9:30 a.m., according to Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco. It was not immediately known if the vehicle stopped or if the driver was identified. Cecil Township police are investigating the crash, along with assistance from state police crash reconstructionist. California Borough to host town hall on filling gap left by KeyBank closure

Cfsbank has invited California residents to attend a town hall event on Tuesday to discuss the future of banking in the borough. The tight-knit Mon Valley community was plunged into uncertainty after KeyBank - the only remaining full-service bank branch in town - announced the planned Aug. 1 closure of the company’s Third Street location earlier this year. Driver killed in wrong-way crash on Mon-Fayette Expressway

One person was killed early Tuesday morning following a wrong-way crash on the Mon-Fayette Expressway in Washington County. Jacob Matthew Huber was driving south on the toll road in Fallowfield Township just north of the interchange with Interstate 70 when a wrong-way driver crashed into his vehicle head-on shortly before 4:30 a.m., Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco said in a press release.
