North Charleroi man charged in bar fight

Monongahela police charged a man Wednesday for allegedly assaulting another man at a bar last week. Dwight Allen Moore Jr., 29, of North Charleroi, faces a felony charge of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor of simple assault. According to the criminal complaint, at about 12:17 a.m. March 13, police were called to the The Drunken Hippie at 131 W. Main St. Charging documents accuse Moore of slapping Robert Painter on the top of his head multiple times. North Strabane supervisors mull potential golf cart ordinance

The board of supervisors in North Strabane Township will decide next week if they will move ahead with an ordinance that would allow golf carts in certain neighborhoods. Officials will vote at their meeting Tuesday on whether or not to have their solicitor, Sweat Law Offices, draw up the ordinance. Harold Close is the supervisor pushing for the ordinance. “It's for the more populated HOA, and non-HOA neighborhoods, for younger folks to be able to get to some of the other amenities these communities provide,” Close said. Former Washington Co. attorney indicted

An attorney who used to work in Washington County was indicted by a grand jury this week on allegations that he embezzled more than $1.3 million from a Pittsburgh nonprofit. Christopher Furman, 53, of Pittsburgh, faces charges of wire fraud and money laundering. According to a press release from the Department of Justice, Furman was named the president of the Society for the Preservation of the Duquesne Heights Incline, which has operated the Duquesne Heights Incline since 1964. The indictment accuses Furman of funneling $1,379,300 from the group’s bank accounts into his own between October 2024 and September 2025. Furman currently works for the Pittsburgh law firm Gabriel Fera. ...

Nottingham man charged in sexual assault of juvenile

State police charged a Nottingham Township man Wednesday after he was accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile. William James Caramana, 46, faces felony charges of aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault. According to the criminal complaint, on Feb. 4 the 13-year-old victim's mother reported the accusations. During an interview later that month, the alleged victim said Caramana touched her inappropriately on more than one occasion.
