Greene County Fair kicks off
Southwestern PA Water Authority will have the water shut off on Thursday, Aug. 13, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sugar Run Road from the Cabin Road intersection back toward town to the Dodahe Trailer Park in Greene County. It will also include: Dulaney Lane, Shadow Oaks Road, Champion Drive, Orchard Road and a small section of Porter Street. Customers may experience low pressure or no water and are advised to keep some containers of water to minimize the outage.
Twenty expired restaurant licenses are being auctioned by the state, and Washington and Greene counties each have one license available. The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is accepting bids through Oct. 5 at noon. Licenses available in this auction cannot be transferred across county lines. They may only be transferred to another municipality within the same county. The minimum bid for each license is $25,000, and each bid must be accompanied by a bid surety of $5,000 or 5% of the total bid amount, whichever is higher, to avoid frivolous or underfunded bids.
