Canonsburg awards roof repair project

Following a monthlong delay, Canonsburg Borough Council awarded a nearly $150,000 contract to Beaver General Construction LLC for a comprehensive repair of the borough building roof during a Monday meeting. Council tabled a scheduled vote on the contract in July, citing a need for further documentation from Beaver before approving the motion. The $148,600.20 contract will see the current roof fully replaced with a modern shingle system. SWPA announces water shutoff in Greene

Southwestern PA Water Authority will have the water shut off on Thursday, Aug. 13, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sugar Run Road from the Cabin Road intersection back toward town to the Dodahe Trailer Park in Greene County. It will also include: Dulaney Lane, Shadow Oaks Road, Champion Drive, Orchard Road and a small section of Porter Street. Customers may experience low pressure or no water and are advised to keep some containers of water to minimize the outage.
