North Strabane Township police charged a man Friday on allegations that he stole more than $10,000 from his roommate. Michael Anthony Luzzi, 31, of North Strabane Township, faces felony charges of identity theft, unlawful use of a computer, access device fraud and criminal use of a communication facility. According to the criminal complaint, in October, Edward Cottrill reported to police that Luzzi had taken money from his BetMGM and Chime accounts. Charging documents state that in February 2025 Cottrill moved in to a residence with Luzzi in the 400 block of Greenwood Drive. Charleroi police arrested a father over the weekend after finding his children living in unsafe conditions. Jackson Alexis, 40, of Charleroi, faces two felony charges of endangering the welfare of children. According to the criminal complaint, shortly before 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Alexis' daughter called 911 and reported that he was "dead." Officers found Alexis face down on a mattress on the floor at his home in the 500 block of Rear McKean Avenue. Alexis told police he was trying to get something for his infant son and fell over. Community members are grieving the loss of a 7-year-old boy who died when he was hit by a car in Greene County, and working on ways to aid his family. Wilson Churilla, a student at Bobtown Elementary School, was walking across Route 88 in Monongahela Township on Saturday afternoon when he was hit by an SUV driven by Lewis Gipson, 92, of Rices Landing, police said.
