A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Chartiers Township Saturday night. The crash occurred shortly before 9:03 p.m. in the 400 block of Pike Street, Washington County 911 dispatch said. The person was unconscious at the scene, the 911 supervisor said. There was no information available on the person or their condition Sunday morning.

A Somerset County man was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Route 40 in South Union Township. First responders were called to the scene about 6:28 p.m. The crash involving a minivan and a tractor trailer occurred in the eastbound lane of Route 40, near the Lick Hollow Historical Site, said the Pennsylvania State Police. A PSP investigation determined the minivan had rear-ended the tractor trailer that was driving up the mountain with its hazard lights activated.
