A Washington woman is facing federal charges after she was accused of using a dead person’s debit card to skim more than $24,000 in Social Security payments from the deceased person’s bank account. Gina Marie Mullen, 58, was arraigned Thursday at the federal courthouse in Pittsburgh on one count of theft of government property after being indicted by a grand jury July 14, according to online court documents. Federal prosecutors said Mullen used the debit card from a deceased beneficiary identified only as “DS” in court documents to $24,237 from the bank account over a 13-month period between July 2022 and August 2023.
