Frequent flooding concerns businesses, residents near Chartiers Creek
A woman was stabbed early Monday morning in the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue in Washington, city police said. The woman, whose identity was not released, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident that occurred about 1:15 a.m., although Washington police did not say whether she was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police said the stabbing was an “isolated incident” and there is no threat to the public. No one was arrested as of Monday afternoon and police did not say if they had any suspects as they continued to investigate the stabbing.
The Washington County coroner’s office is seeking information on Denise Wisneski, who was born Nov. 11, 1963, and died Sept. 6 at UPMC Washington Hospital. Information on potential next of kin should be directed to the coroner’s office at 724-228-6785.

The Chartiers-Houston Buccaneer Marching Band will host its annual band festival on Saturday. Eight other area high school marching bands will join the Buccaneer Band for an evening of song, field formations and drumlines.
