Connellsville couple charged after infant child's injuries deemed abuse

A Connellsville couple was arrested after doctors found their 7-month-old son had suffered severe injuries, allegedly resulting from child abuse. Tyler Hunter, 18, was charged after physicians determined the child’s injuries — including bruises, lacerations and bone fractures — could not be explained medically, police said. The child’s mother, Bella Kern, 18, had known about the abuse and failed to report it to authorities or outside agencies, court paperwork alleged. One killed, two injured in Cecil Township crash

An Oakdale man was killed Sunday night in a two-vehicle accident in Cecil Township that sent one car over a nearby hillside. According to a Washington County 911 supervisor, first responders were called at about 8:20 p.m. to the intersection of State Route 980 and Clover Lane. Cecil Township fire Chief Ted Wolford said the crash involved two cars that hit each other head-on. "We had one fatality. The police department is investigating," Wolford said.
