Donora man charged for physically abusing children

Donora police charged a man Monday for physically abusing his two children. Akash Maurya, 26, of Donora, faces felony charges of endangering the welfare of children and misdemeanor simple assault charges. According to the criminal complaint, Maurya has been in India since Sunday, and there is an active warrant for his arrest. Sabrina Yinger, Maurya's wife, contacted police Feb. 7 to report the abuse, which occurred at their home in the 900 block of Thompson Avenue. One video from March 2025 she provided to investigators allegedly shows Maurya grabbing their son by the head, pushing him to the ground and kicking him.
