Washington County customers asked to conserve water

Pennsylvania American Water is asking its customers to reduce nonessential water use while several counties are under a drought watch. Washington County was initially placed on drought watch by the the state Department of Environmental Protection in September. Earlier this month, 11 more counties were added to the list, bringing the total to 40. Pennsylvania American Water provides service in 17 of the counties. The company is asking its customers to follow DEP guidance and reduce nonessential water use by 10% to 15%, approximately 11 to 16 gallons per day.
