Data center ordinance topic of Cecil Township workshop

Cecil Township moved another step closer to enacting a comprehensive ordinance regulating data center projects during a Monday night workshop. The board of supervisors have discussed the best approach to regulating the high-tech industry since earlier this year, following a wave of outcry from residents across the county that began in fall 2025 after a large property in South Strabane Township was listed for sale as a prime location for a data center campus. Registration open for ‘Fly Like a Girl’ drone program

Registration is open until Thursday for the “Fly Like a Girl,” or FLAG Academy, at South Fayette High School and Pittsburgh International Airport starting July 20. FLAG is a drone academy designed for high school girls to become certified drone pilots. It is open to eligible high school girls throughout the region. Students who participate will have access to professional-grade drones and find out about the fundamentals of drone operations, aviation safety, airspace regulations and more. Private water supply users in Fayette and surrounding counties are invited to attend the “Understanding PFAS in Private Water Systems” workshop on July 16 at 1 p.m. at the Fayette County Extension Office, 34 W.
