Chartiers-Houston Buccaneer Band to host 
12th annual band festival

The Chartiers-Houston Buccaneer Marching Band will host its annual band festival on Saturday. Eight other area high school marching bands will join the Buccaneer Band for an evening of song, field formations and drumlines. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the first band taking the field at 7 p.m. Tickets for the general public can be purchased at the door for $10. Student tickets cost $5. The event will take place outdoors at Chartiers-Houston Jr./Sr. High School’s Buccaneer Stadium, 2020 W. Pike Street, Houston. Allenport man killed by train

An Allenport man died Friday after he was hit by a train in the borough. Anthony Michael Chilzer, 43, was pronounced dead after he was struck by a Norfolk Southern train in Allenport about 5:10 p.m., according to Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco. According to the release from Warco's office, Chilzer was hit while attempting to cross the tracks near Bridge Street in Allenport on his motorized wheelchair. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
