The Washington Greene Health Foundation (WGHF) announces the launch of its Pilot Community Grantmaking Cycle, awarding a total of over $100,000 to 23 nonprofit organizations serving residents across Washington and Greene Counties. Household chemical collection set for Wild Things Stadium Saturday

On Saturday, the Pennsylvania Resources Council will host a household chemical collection in partnership with Washington County Planning Commission to provide residents with a safe and cost-effective way to dispose of common chemicals such as cleaners, paints, batteries, automotive fluids and pesticides.  The collection will take place on Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at EQT PARK, 1 Washington Federal Way, Washington. Washington man charged in rape of young boy

A Washington man was arrested last week and accused of raping a young boy on multiple occassions last year. John Bryan, 61, was charged Friday by city police with multiple felony counts after officers were called to investigate a child welfare report. Police said the 5-year-old boy told investigators about the assaults and a medical evaluation showed injuries from being raped, according to court documents. The child also appeared to have bladder issues possibly caused by a sexually transmitted disease.
