CANTON Child sexual abuse material: Dominic James Wright, 31, of Canton Township, was charged Thursday by state police with possession of child sexual abuse material and criminal use of a communication facility. According to the criminal complaint, in July 2019 OneDrive reported that an illicit image had been uploaded to one of its accounts. In February 2020, police served a search warrant at Wright’s home in the 100 block of Dorothy Avenue and seized a laptop that allegedly contained child sexual abuse material. North Franklin Township has issued a snow emergency from 6 a.m. Sunday until noon Monday. Supervisor Chairman Bob Sabot, who also is the township emergency management coordinator, asked residents to clear the streets of parked vehicles to make it easier for township public service employees to plow and salt roads. "This will be a big storm, and residents need to have patience," Sabot said. “We have good equipment and enough salt to get it done."
The Greene County Farmland Preservation Board is accepting applications from qualifying landowners for participation in the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program. Applications will be accepted through the end of this year. The program is designed to help farmers protect their land for future generations by permanently preserving farmland from non-agricultural development. Landowners may sell or donate a conservation easement while retaining ownership of their property and continuing agricultural production. The new South Strabane Township board of supervisors is moving ahead with a revised 2026 budget that will eliminate a position and dissolve the parks and recreation commission. The board held the second of two budget workshops Thursday evening. Supervisor Zack Morgan said the new proposal expects that the township will spend $8,487,775 - more than $250,000 less than what the original budget called for.
