The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) will conduct a solemn Memorial Day ceremony honoring John Ross Dunn, bugler of the 22nd Pennsylvania Cavalry, known as “The Ringgolds,” at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Ruff Creek, Greene County. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, and is open to the public. Dunn served as a bugler in the first of Pennsylvania’s distinguished Civil War cavalry units. Buglers played a vital role on the battlefield, transmitting orders and signals that guided troop movements during combat. Election Day meals The Center Township VFD Auxiliary will have food for sale on Election Day from 8 a.m to 7 p.m. Breakfast will include sausage and biscuits. Lunch will be sloppy joe, hot dogs, ham, cabbage and sausage. Dinner will be lasagna, salad, garlic bread and desserts.
