A Westmoreland County man is accused by state police of sending sexually explicit photos to a pre-teen girl living in West Bethlehem Township earlier this year and having her send a nude photo of herself. Logan Garrett Rowles, 18, of Scottdale, was arrested Thursday on felony charges alleging that he communicated with the 12-year-old girl using a social media app on their electronic devices to send and receive the sexual images, according to court documents. The latest round of Department of Community and Economic Development Main Street Matters grants will benefit four projects in Southwestern Pennsylvania with over $1 million in awarded capital allocated to improve arts, business and community assets. Peters Township residents will be able to weigh in on the community’s draft comprehensive plan later this month. A review of the plan is set for June 24 starting at 6 p.m. in the large instruction room at Peters Township High School. Residents will be able to talk with township officials and consultants about the plan and look at maps and exhibits related to the plan. There will also be a brief presentation. The comprehensive plan has been in the works for more than a year, and it is meant to be a blueprint for the township’s growth for the next 10 years. Senior centers in Washington, Greene and Fayette counties will be receiving grants from the state to make renovations and upgrades to their facilities. All told, more than $3 million is going out to 422 senior community centers across the commonwealth. That includes $2 million in competitive grants and an additional $1 million in non-competitive grants. Four senior centers across the three counties received competitive grants, which are allotted for updating and modernizing facilities and technology, providing new programs and enhancing nutrition services. An Allegheny County man pleaded guilty Monday to supplying a deadly batch of fentanyl to a Peters Township man who overdosed and died nearly three years ago. William Dewayne Hockett, 25, of North Braddock, appeared in the Washington County Courthouse before Judge Traci McDonald and pleaded guilty to felony drug delivery resulting in death and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. McDonald immediately sentenced Hockett to serve three to six years in prison as part of the plea deal his attorney, Peter Marcoline III, negotiated with prosecutors. A Canton Township teen and two juveniles were charged last week following the rash of car break-ins and burglaries in Langeloth and Burgettstown last month.
